How do I rent a dumpster with Dumpster Fire?

Renting a roll-off dumpster in Port Charlotte, FL, is simple and fast. Just book online 24/7 using our slick digital system, or call/text (239) 412-3283 to speak with a friendly local team member right away. We offer same-day and next-day dumpster delivery for quick, simple cleanup. All our dumpsters come with driveway protection, so your entryway stays pretty.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Dumpster Fire is fully licensed and insured, so your property is covered from the moment we drop off to the moment we haul away. We even jumped through all the background-check and insurance hoops for Google Local Services.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. That keeps your dumpster rental in Port Charlotte convenient and secure. Unfortunately, we don't currently accept cash or checks. Payment during online booking or over the phone ensures fast service and transparent pricing. (Junk removal jobs can be paid by any method, just ask.)

What types of waste are not allowed in the dumpsters?

To protect your home and ensure eco-friendly dumpster disposal in Port Charlotte, we can't accept hazardous items such as combustible liquids, oils, oil-based paints (dry paint is fine), batteries, unicorns, solvents, dynamite, guns, bazookas and chemicals. Need a disposal solution for heavy debris or concrete? Ask about our heavy debris dumpster rental options to stay compliant and avoid extra fees.

Are your services available on weekends?

Absolutely. Dumpster Fire offers seven-day-a-week dumpster rental and delivery service in Southwest Florida, including weekends. Whether you need same-day dumpster delivery for a weekend renovation or extended rental for a longer project, we can set you up with flexible rental periods and driveway-safe, local service.

Do I need to be present during the delivery or pick-up?

Yes, an adult should be present at the delivery and pickup location to ensure smooth placement of your driveway-safe roll-off dumpster. If needed, we can also coordinate safe placement instructions in advance. In some instances, you can send a picture and give clear written instructions of where you want the dumpster placed. This way we make sure the dumpster is exactly where you want it.

What sizes of dumpsters are available for rent?

Dumpster Fire Disposal offers three popular roll-off dumpster sizes:

  • 7-yard: Ideal for small cleanouts or yard projects.
  • 15-yard: Great for home renovations and bulky item removal.
  • 20-yard: Best for construction debris or large household cleanups.

Each dumpster is driveway-friendly and easy to load.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

You can rent a dumpster from us for 1 to 7 days or more, whichever works best for your schedule. Each rental includes 3 days; extra days are $25 each. A week is usually plenty for home cleanouts, remodeling projects, or yard waste removal. Need it longer? Just give us a call or text at (239) 412-3283. Contractor rental periods and monthly subscriptions are also available.

Do I need a permit to rent a dumpster?

In most cases, you will not need a permit if your roll-off dumpster rental is placed on private property such as your driveway. However, if you plan to place the dumpster on a public street, sidewalk, or right-of-way in Port Charlotte or other parts of Southwest Florida, a permit from the local city or county may be required. Don't worry, we can guide you through the process and help you determine whether a dumpster permit is necessary for your project. For fast answers, just call or text us at (239) 412-3283.

What can I put in a roll-off dumpster?

All the stuff. You can safely toss most non-hazardous waste in your Dumpster Fire rental. Common approved items include:

  • Household junk such as old clothes, broken toys, and that exercise bike you swore you'd use
  • Furniture like couches, chairs, tables, and your aunt's 300-lb floral loveseat that's haunted every move
  • Yard debris: branches, leaves, storm cleanup, or that jungle of palm fronds you've been ignoring
  • Construction and remodeling debris such as wood, drywall, flooring, and cabinets
  • Roofing materials, yes, even shingles from that roof that should've been replaced in 1998

Restricted items include hazardous materials like chemicals, paints, oils, solvents, and batteries. Sorry, no propane tanks, live alligators, or ex-roommates either. These must be handled through local hazardous waste programs. If you're not sure whether your trash makes the cut, just call or text us at (239) 412-3283.

Are there extra fees for exceeding the weight limit?

Yes. Our dumpster rentals include a built-in weight allowance of 2,000 lbs. Think of it as the dumpster's all-you-can-eat buffet limit. Go over that limit and it's $100 per ton, charged at the exact overage weight. We don't round up. Don't worry though, we're happy to help you estimate the right dumpster size for your project ahead of time so you can avoid heavy surprises.

Do you protect my driveway?

Always. We slide our driveway protection pads under the dumpster on every job, and we build them ourselves out of sealed plywood. On a new paver driveway we'll put clear plastic down too. After pickup we sweep up, and we take a photo of the spot before we drop and after we grab it, so you're never left wondering how we found your driveway or how we left it.

Can I put the dumpster in the street?

Usually not without a permit. Charlotte and Lee County require a special permit to set a dumpster in a public road or right-of-way, so a driveway or somewhere on your own property is the easy route. If the street really is your only option, give us a call and we'll talk through what it takes.

Can I get same-day or next-day delivery?

Absolutely! We provide fast same-day or next-day dumpster delivery across Southwest Florida. That means you're covered in Port Charlotte, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, North Port, and even Pine Island. Call or text early for the best availability. Our dumpsters have busy social calendars.

What size dumpster do I need?

When in doubt, size up. A 7-yard handles a small cleanout, a garage, or a yard project. A 15-yard is the do-everything size for a remodel or a serious decluttering. A 20-yard is for whole-home cleanouts and construction debris. Not sure which one fits? Tell us what you're tossing when you call or text (239) 412-3283 and we'll point you to the right size so you're not paying for air or running out of room.

What's the difference between a dumpster rental and junk removal?

With a dumpster rental, we drop the can, you fill it on your own time, and we come haul it away. With junk removal, you point and we do the lifting and loading. A dumpster is great when you're working through a project over a few days. Junk removal is great when you just want it gone today and don't feel like touching it. We do both, so go with whatever suits your back and your schedule.

Can I put concrete, dirt, brick, or other heavy material in the dumpster?

Sometimes, but heavy stuff like concrete, dirt, brick, and tile hits the weight limit long before it fills the can, so it usually needs its own dumpster and its own pricing. Don't mix it in with your regular debris without telling us first. Call or text (239) 412-3283 and we'll set you up with the right dumpster for heavy debris so the weight stays in line.

Do you take appliances like refrigerators and washers?

Most appliances are no problem. The one catch is anything with refrigerant, like fridges, freezers, and AC units. By law that refrigerant has to be drained and certified before disposal, so let us know ahead of time if you've got one and we'll walk you through it. Washers, dryers, stoves, and dishwashers can go right in.

What happens if I overfill the dumpster?

Keep everything level with the top rail. We can't legally or safely haul a dumpster that's heaped over the sides or has things sticking out, so an overloaded can may have to be leveled before we can take it. If you think you're going to run out of room, call or text us and we'll sort out a bigger size or a second haul.

Can I move the dumpster after it's been dropped off?

Please don't. Once it's set, leave it put. Dragging a loaded roll-off can tear up your driveway and throw off the pickup. If the spot isn't working out, give us a call and we'll come reposition it the right way.

Can I extend my rental if my project runs long?

Of course. Every rental includes 3 days, and extra days are $25 each, so if the project drags out, just call or text (239) 412-3283 before your pickup date and we'll leave the can with you. Contractor and monthly arrangements are available too.

What areas do you serve?

We run out of Port Charlotte and cover Charlotte and Lee County, plus the edges of Sarasota County. That's Punta Gorda, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Port, Englewood, the Cape Haze peninsula, and all of Pine Island. See the full list on our service area page, or just call with your address and we'll tell you what we can do.

Do you handle full cleanouts, like garages, estates, and hoarding situations?

Yes, and we do it without the side-eye. Garage cleanouts, estate cleanouts, eviction and rental turnovers, and hoarding situations are all in our wheelhouse, one room at a time if that's what it takes. Check our junk removal options or text a few photos to (239) 412-3283 and we'll take it from there.

What happens to everything after you haul it off?

We try to keep usable stuff out of the landfill, donating or recycling what we can, and the rest goes to a licensed disposal facility. If you're curious how it works, we wrote a whole post on where your junk actually ends up.

Still have a question?

Call or text and a real person will answer. It's fine. We've got it.
