Matlacha is a tiny fishing village on the bridge-islands between Cape Coral and Pine Island. Pine Island Road runs straight through the middle of it, past the bright cottages, the art galleries, and the seafood spots along Matlacha Pass. The lots out here are small and the streets are narrow to match. Pine Island Road is the only way in or out, and everything crosses the Matlacha drawbridge. Locals call it the Fishingest Bridge in the World, because people line both rails with poles all day. That single-road access is the planning problem out here. When the bridge goes up, traffic stops, so it's worth telling us your window when you book. The water on both sides is the Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve, which is why lots are tight and there's nowhere to spread a job out.
